Kia Carnival: Specifications, Consumer information and Reporting safety defects / Consumer Assistance (U.S. only)

Kia is deeply committed to ensuring complete driver satisfaction and long-term peace of mind. Complimentary Roadside Assistance is provided on all new current model year Kia vehicles, guaranteeing that drivers of the Kia Carnival have access to emergency support whenever challenges arise on the road. This premium coverage takes effect from the date the vehicle is delivered to the first retail buyer, or when it is otherwise officially put into service, whichever occurs earlier. The protection plan remains active for a period of 60 months or 60,000 miles, whichever milestone is reached first, and is subject to the specific terms, conditions, and exclusions detailed within the official Kia Warranty and Consumer Information Manual applicable to your vehicle's model year.

Please note that Kia America, Inc. reserves the right to limit, modify, or deny emergency services or associated roadside benefits to any owner or operator when, in the sole professional judgment of Kia America, Inc., the claims or service requests are determined to be excessive in frequency or irregular in their type of occurrence.

Toll-free consumer assistance

Dedicated customer support is readily accessible from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM PST, Monday through Friday. Kia Carnival owners can seamlessly speak with a consumer assistance representative by dialing the toll-free number at 1-800-333-4542.

For more comprehensive information regarding the full scope of customer assistance programs and owner resources, please refer directly to your printed Kia Warranty & Consumer Information Manual.

Emergency roadside assistance

To ensure you and your family remain safe during your journeys, emergency roadside support is operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This dispatch service can be reached immediately by dialing 1-800-333-4542, or conveniently by pressing the integrated Roadside Assistance (RSA) button inside the cabin (available to owners who are actively enrolled in the Kia Connect system).

Please note that you must provide your unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to verify program coverage at the time of your call. The VIN can be quickly located on the driver's side dashboard of your vehicle (visible from the outside looking through the windshield), stamped directly onto the driver's side door jamb, or printed on your official vehicle registration and proof of insurance cards.

Kia proudly partners with an extensive network consisting of over 30,000 professional RSA providers nationwide. Should you accidentally run out of fuel, require an emergency battery jump-start, or need help changing a flat tire, an experienced Kia RSA Representative will promptly dispatch a mobile service unit to your location. The recovery technician will deliver a sufficient quantity of fuel to get you to the nearest service station, mount your inflated spare tire, or provide a safe battery jump to help you continue to your destination. Additionally, we provide access to a trusted network of more than 10,000 professional locksmiths to assist you immediately if you ever become locked out of your Kia Carnival.

If a severe mechanical failure renders your vehicle completely undriveable due to a covered, warranty-related component concern, the Kia RSA Representative will coordinate professional towing transport. Your vehicle will be safely towed to the nearest authorized Kia dealership or an approved alternative Kia service location.

Please be aware that your vehicle must be located in an area that is safely accessible to our standard dispatch transport vehicles, as determined by the recovery driver, to receive these emergency towing services.

Kia Roadside Assistance program warranty exclusion notice for branded or salvage vehicles NOTICE: Roadside Assistance benefits are strictly unavailable for any Kia Carnival that has ever been issued, or should have legally been issued, a "salvage" title or a similar "branded" title under any state's vehicle laws. This program exclusion also applies to any vehicle that has been officially declared a "total loss" or its structural equivalent by a financial institution or automotive insurance provider.

Trip interruption

To provide extra peace of mind, Kia offers trip interruption expense benefits specifically designed for Kia Carnival owners. These benefits are activated if a warranty-related mechanical disablement occurs more than 150 miles away from your primary residence, and if the necessary repairs are estimated to take longer than 24 hours to complete. Under this coverage, reasonable reimbursement is provided for essential expenses such as meals, hotel lodging, and rental vehicle costs. Please note that trip interruption coverage is capped at $100 per day, with a maximum limit of three days per individual incident.

To utilize this benefit, you are strictly required to contact the Kia Roadside Assistance (RSA) Center to obtain formal pre-authorization of all expenses before you incur them. Once the Kia RSA Center has granted authorization, their representatives will actively assist you in making the necessary travel or accommodation arrangements. Please be advised that any insurance deductibles, or any expenses and claims already covered or paid by your personal insurance policy or other third-party providers, are not eligible for further reimbursement through this program.

Additionally, please be aware that vehicles utilized for fleet purposes are explicitly excluded from reimbursement eligibility under Kia’s official Trip Interruption Policy.

Registering your vehicle in a foreign country

If you are planning to relocate and register your Kia Carnival in a foreign country, it is your responsibility to confirm that your vehicle fully conforms to the unique safety, emissions, and mechanical regulations of that specific nation. Even if you are successful in registering your Kia Carnival abroad, you may encounter several operational challenges. We strongly encourage you to carefully consider the following potential issues before moving your vehicle internationally:

  1. Fuel Compatibility: The specific grade or quality of fuel required for optimal performance of your Kia Carnival engine may be completely unavailable in the new country. If fuel that does not meet the manufacturer's specifications is utilized, it can cause severe, long-term damage to the engine, the sophisticated fuel injection system, and other sensitive fuel-related components. Please note that such damage is generally not covered under the terms of your New Vehicle Emissions Limited Warranty.

  2. Maintenance and Regulatory Challenges: When you leave the country where your new Kia was originally purchased and re-register it elsewhere, any problems arising from the use of non-specified fuel are excluded from your warranty coverage. Furthermore, because specific versions of the Kia Carnival may not be officially marketed in the new country of registration, the specialized parts, professional servicing techniques, and advanced diagnostic tools necessary to properly maintain and repair your vehicle may be entirely unavailable.

Even if the Kia Carnival model is sold in your new country of residence, the mechanical specifications mandated by that government—such as lighting configurations or emissions hardware—may vary significantly from the country of original purchase, leading to complex compliance and maintenance problems.

  3. Service Network Availability: There may not be an Authorized Kia Dealer or a certified service facility in the country where you intend to register your vehicle. Consequently, you may encounter significant difficulty in obtaining professional service, genuine parts, or reliable technical support for your Kia Carnival for a wide variety of logistical or infrastructure-related reasons.

Ultimately, Kia cannot assume any legal or financial responsibility for mechanical problems or performance issues that result from unsatisfactory service, the inability to find parts, or a total lack of specialized Kia service facilities outside of the United States.
