The gauges on your Kia Carnival are designed to provide clear, real-time feedback on your vehicle’s
mechanical health and operating status.
Speedometer
The speedometer displays your current driving speed in both miles per hour (mph) and kilometers per hour (km/h).
Type A

Type B

Tachometer
The tachometer displays engine speed in revolutions per minute (rpm). Monitoring this gauge helps you identify
optimal shift points for fuel efficiency and prevents unnecessary engine strain.
Type A

Type B

CAUTION
Do not operate the Kia Carnival engine within the tachometer's "RED ZONE." Prolonged operation in
this range can lead to catastrophic engine failure.
Engine coolant temperature gauge
This gauge monitors the temperature of the engine coolant while the Kia Carnival is running.
Type A

Type B

CAUTION
If the pointer enters the "H" (Hot) or "130" zone, your engine is overheating. Pull over safely immediately and allow
the engine to cool. Do not continue driving, as this can cause permanent damage.
WARNING
Never remove the radiator cap while the engine is hot. The pressurized coolant can cause severe burns.
Fuel gauge
The fuel gauge indicates the approximate amount of fuel remaining in the tank of your Kia Carnival.
Type A

Type B

NOTICE
- A low fuel warning light will illuminate when the tank is nearly empty.
- Fuel gauge readings may fluctuate during driving on inclines or sharp curves due to fuel movement in the tank.
NOTICE
Avoid driving with an extremely low fuel level. Refuel as soon as the warning light appears to prevent stalling and
potential damage to the catalytic converter.
CAUTION
Running the engine out of fuel can cause misfires, which may damage the Kia Carnival exhaust and
emission control systems.
NOTICE
For the most accurate fuel reading, check the gauge while the vehicle is on level ground.
Odometer
The odometer in your Kia Carnival tracks the cumulative total distance the vehicle has traveled
since manufacture. This data is vital for keeping track of your service intervals and ensuring your vehicle receives
timely periodic maintenance.
Type A

Type B

Distance to empty (DTE)
This feature provides an estimated driving range based on the remaining fuel in your Kia Carnival
tank and your recent driving habits.
Type A

Type B

-
Range: Displays estimates from 1 to 9,999 miles (or kilometers).
-
Display Limit: When the calculated range drops below 1 mile (1 km), the display will show
"---".
-
Refueling Recognition: To update the DTE calculation accurately after refueling, you must add
at least 2.9 gallons (11 liters) of fuel.
NOTICE
-
The DTE is an estimate. Actual driving distance may vary based on your driving style, road conditions, vehicle
load, and maintenance status.
-
If the vehicle is parked on an incline or if battery power is interrupted, the DTE calculation may temporarily
be inaccurate.
-
The system may not register fuel additions smaller than 2.9 gallons (11 liters).
Outside temperature gauge
The Kia Carnival displays the current ambient outside temperature to keep you informed about road
conditions.
Type A

Type B

Note: To ensure you are not distracted by rapid fluctuations, the display updates gradually. You can toggle between
Celsius and Fahrenheit units through the infotainment system: Setup → General → Units → Temperature
Unit.
