Kia Carnival: If you have a flat tire (with spare tire) / Removing and storing the spare tire

1. Open the right-side sliding door to access the interior controls.

2. Locate the spare tire fixing bolt cover and remove it carefully.

   If you need to access the tool case, release the clamp before separating the case from its mount.

   

3. Firmly connect the socket to the wheel lug nut wrench.

4. Use the lug nut wrench to loosen the fixing bolt sufficiently to lower the spare tire.

   Turn the wrench counterclockwise until the tire makes contact with the ground.

   

5. Once the spare tire is on the ground, continue turning the wrench counterclockwise to create enough slack to draw the tire out from underneath the Kia Carnival. Avoid rotating the wrench excessively, as this can cause damage to the spare tire carrier mechanism.

6. Remove the retainer (1) from the center hub of the spare tire.

7. Remove the center protective cover from the spare tire wheel.

1. Position the tire on the ground with the valve stem facing downward.

   

2. Slide the wheel back under the vehicle and insert the retainer (1) through the center of the wheel.

3. Turn the wrench clockwise until you hear/feel an audible click, confirming the tire is locked into place.

WARNING

Always ensure the spare tire retainer is perfectly aligned with the center hub of the wheel. Failure to properly secure the tire will cause it to "rattle" during operation, which may eventually lead to the tire falling off the carrier while driving, resulting in a dangerous road accident.

With 3rd row seats unfolded upright

1. Place the flat tire in the center of the cargo area behind the 3rd row seats, with the outer face of the wheel directed toward the liftgate.

   

2. Thread the provided fixing belt through the inside of the wheel.

3. Connect the fixing belt to the striker (A) located at the bottom of the 3rd row seat backrest.

   

4. Tighten the fixing belt securely to prevent movement.

With 3rd row seats folded flat

1. Place the flat tire onto the folded 3rd row seats with the outer part of the wheel facing upward.

   

2. Pass the fixing belt through the wheel opening.

3. Secure the belt to the striker (A) located on the seat back area.

   

4. Pull the fixing belt until it is taut and secure.

NOTICE

If the flat tire is dirty or covered in road debris, place the tire inside an anti-pollution cover (B) before storing it in the cabin of your Kia Carnival to prevent damage or staining of the interior upholstery.

WARNING

To prevent personal injury and avoid interior damage to your Kia Carnival, always use the approved tethering method described above to secure a flat tire during transit.
