Kia Carnival: Features of your vehicle / Keys

Smart key remote for Kia Carnival WARNING

Never leave your keys inside the Kia Carnival while children are present without adult supervision. Leaving children unattended in a vehicle equipped with a smart key system is extremely dangerous.

Children may mimic adult actions, potentially placing the key in position and pressing the ENGINE START/STOP button. An active key could enable children to operate power windows, adjust other controls, or even shift the vehicle into gear, which could result in serious bodily injury or death.

Record your key number

Key code tag attached to Kia Carnival original key set The unique key code number is stamped on the tag provided with your original key set. If you lose your keys, this code allows an authorized Kia dealer to duplicate them accurately. Please remove this tag and store it in a secure location. We strongly recommend recording the key code number and keeping it in a safe, accessible place—never inside the Kia Carnival itself.

For your safety and to protect the vehicle's electrical systems, use only original Kia parts for key replacements. If a non-genuine or aftermarket key is used, the ENGINE START/STOP button may fail to return to the ON position after starting. This can cause the starter motor to run continuously, potentially leading to wiring damage or a vehicle fire due to excessive electrical current.
