Kia Carnival: What to do in an emergency / Road warning

When an emergency occurs while driving or when you are required to park on the shoulder of a roadway, you must take immediate steps to alert approaching or passing drivers. Effectively signaling your presence is critical for safety; for this purpose, you should utilize the hazard warning flasher system in your Kia Carnival.

Hazard warning flasher

The hazard warning flasher serves as an essential safety signal, alerting other motorists to exercise extreme caution when approaching, overtaking, or passing your Kia Carnival.

This system should be activated whenever emergency repairs are being performed, or whenever the vehicle is forced to stop near the edge of a roadway or in a hazardous traffic situation.

You can activate the flashers by pressing the hazard warning flasher switch, which is conveniently located on the center fascia panel of your Kia Carnival. This switch is functional regardless of the position of the ENGINE START/STOP button. Once activated, all turn signal lamps will flash simultaneously to indicate a state of emergency.

  • The hazard warning flasher system operates independently and functions whether the Kia Carnival engine is running or not.
  • Please note that standard turn signal operation is disabled while the hazard warning flashers are active.
  • Extra caution should be exercised when using the hazard warning flasher while the Kia Carnival is being towed to ensure other drivers are aware of the vehicle's status.
