Kia Carnival: Features of your vehicle / Theft-alarm system

The theft-alarm system is engineered to provide comprehensive protection against unauthorized entry into your Kia Carnival. The system operates through three distinct stages of security:

  1. Armed stage: The system is ready to detect unauthorized entry.

  2. Theft-alarm stage: The system is actively responding to an intrusion.

  3. Disarmed stage: The security system is deactivated, allowing authorized entry.

Overview of the theft-alarm system status on the Kia Carnival

If the system is triggered by an unauthorized attempt to access the vehicle, it will initiate an audible alarm while simultaneously flashing the hazard warning lights to attract attention.

Theft-alarm stage

The security alarm of your Kia Carnival will be activated automatically if any of the following unauthorized actions occur while the system is armed:

  • A front or rear door is opened without using the authorized smart key.

  • The power liftgate is opened without using the smart key.

  • The engine hood is opened.

Once triggered, the vehicle horn will sound and the hazard warning lights will flash continuously for approximately 27 seconds. This cycle will repeat three times to deter potential intruders unless the system is manually disarmed. To silence the alarm and turn off the system, simply unlock the doors using the unlock button on your Kia Carnival smart key.
