To enhance cabin comfort, your Kia Carnival can automatically switch to 'Recirculated Air' mode when the windshield washer fluid is sprayed, preventing harsh washer fluid odors from entering the passenger compartment. Please note that during low external temperatures, the system may remain in 'Fresh Air' mode to prevent windshield fogging.

System setting and cancellation

To toggle this feature, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure the ENGINE START/STOP button is in the ON position.
  2. Press the Mode Selection button until the 'Floor-Level' airflow direction (Floor-Level mode icon) is selected.
  3. While holding the Air Conditioning (A/C) button, press the Recirculated Air button more than 4 times within 2 seconds.
  4. The indicator on the Recirculated Air button will blink 6 times to confirm activation or 3 times to confirm cancellation.

Alternatively, you can manage this via the infotainment screen: Settings → Vehicle → Climate → Recirculate Air → Activate upon Washer Fluid Use. For advanced settings, consult your Kia Carnival infotainment quick reference guide.
