Kia Carnival: Windshield defrosting and defogging / Defogging logic

To proactively minimize internal windshield fogging, your Kia Carnival uses intelligent defogging logic. This system automatically adjusts air intake and air conditioning settings when the climate system is set to Front defrost mode icon or Floor-Defrost mode icon positions.

If you prefer to manage these settings manually, you can toggle the automatic defogging logic of your Kia Carnival as follows:

  1. Set the ENGINE START/STOP button to the ON position.
  2. Set the climate mode to the (Defrost mode selection) position.
  3. Within 10 seconds of selecting the DEFOG mode, press the air intake button at least 5 times within a 3-second window. The intake button indicator will blink 3 times, confirming that the automatic logic has been toggled (canceled or reactivated).

Note: If the vehicle battery is disconnected or discharged, this logic will revert to its default factory-programmed state.
