The Driver Attention Warning (DAW) system is a proactive safety feature integrated into your Kia Carnival. Its
primary purpose is to enhance road safety by continuously monitoring your driving behavior and environmental
conditions.
Inattentive Driving Warning function
The Driver Attention Warning system continuously monitors your driving patterns, such as steering inputs, vehicle
positioning within the lane, and braking consistency. When the Kia Carnival detects that your attention level has
dropped below a pre-established safety threshold—often due to fatigue or distraction—the system will actively
recommend that you take a break to ensure continued safe operation of the vehicle.
Leading Vehicle Departure Alert function
In stop-and-go traffic, the Leading Vehicle Departure Alert function provides added convenience. This feature informs
the driver via visual and audible alerts when the vehicle directly in front of your Kia Carnival departs from a
stopped position, helping you stay alert at intersections or in congested traffic.
Detecting sensor
Front camera
The high-definition front-view camera serves as the primary sensor for the Kia Carnival DAW system. It is utilized to
analyze driving patterns and detect the departure of leading vehicles. Please refer to the image above for the
precise location of this sensor on your Kia Carnival.
CAUTION
-
To maintain optimal performance of the Driver Attention Warning system, always keep the windshield area in
front of the camera clean and free from obstructions such as snow, ice, or dirt.
