The core objective of the Driver Attention Warning system is to promote safety by suggesting breaks based on analyzed
driving data.
A: Consider taking a break
When the system determines that your attention level has dropped below the safety threshold, the inattentive warning
light (
) will blink, a notification message will appear on the
instrument cluster, and an audible chime will sound. These prompts are designed to encourage the Kia Carnival driver
to pull over and rest.
-
To prevent frequent or unnecessary notifications, the system will not suggest a break if the total driving time
is under 4 minutes, or if less than 4 minutes have passed since the previous break recommendation was issued.
WARNING
For your safety and the safety of your passengers, please only adjust your Kia Carnival system settings while the
vehicle is parked in a secure location.
CAUTION
-
Be aware that the DAW system may suggest a break based on specific driving habits or patterns, even if the
driver does not personally feel fatigued.
-
The Driver Attention Warning is a supplemental safety aid. It may not always accurately determine whether the
driver is actually inattentive or distracted.
-
If you experience signs of drowsiness, you must prioritize your safety and pull over at a safe location,
regardless of whether the Kia Carnival has issued a break suggestion.
A: Leading vehicle is driving away
When the vehicle in front of your Kia Carnival departs from a stationary position—such as at a traffic light or in
heavy stop-and-go traffic—the Leading Vehicle Departure Alert function will provide a timely notification. The system
alerts the driver by displaying a clear warning message on the instrument cluster, accompanied by an audible chime to
ensure your attention is returned to the road.
WARNING
-
Please note that if other vehicle safety systems are actively displaying high-priority warning messages or
generating alerts, the notification for the Leading Vehicle Departure Alert may be suppressed or go unnoticed.
-
The driver always retains the primary responsibility to monitor the environment and maintain safe control of
the Kia Carnival.
CAUTION
-
The Leading Vehicle Departure Alert is designed as a supplemental convenience function and may not trigger an
alert every time the leading vehicle moves forward.
-
Always perform a manual visual check of the road ahead and assess traffic conditions before moving your Kia
Carnival from a stop.
NOTICE
Graphic elements and alert colors within the Kia Carnival instrument cluster may vary based on your selected theme or
the specific display configuration chosen in the vehicle settings menu.
