The Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA) system is an advanced safety feature designed to enhance your
driving experience in your Kia Carnival. By utilizing sophisticated sensors, the system continuously monitors the
area behind your vehicle, detecting pedestrians or potential obstacles. If a collision risk is identified while you
are reversing, the Kia Carnival PCA system provides timely driver warnings and can proactively assist with emergency
braking to help prevent or mitigate a collision.

With the vehicle powered on, access the configuration menu by selecting Setup → Vehicle → Driver Assistance →
Parking Safety via the infotainment display.
- Backward Safety: This feature provides critical alerts or automatic braking assistance when the
Kia Carnival detects a high probability of collision with pedestrians or objects while reversing.
CAUTION
When an electrical trailer connection is detected, the Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist system in your Kia
Carnival will automatically deactivate to prevent false triggers. In this state, the system cannot assist with
parking maneuvers. Always exercise extra caution and rely on visual verification when towing a trailer with your Kia
Carnival (if equipped with genuine Kia towing components).
NOTICE
The Backward Safety feature is enabled by default when the vehicle is started, and your preferred settings will be
consistently retained across drive cycles in your Kia Carnival.
