Your Kia Carnival is equipped with an intelligent lighting system designed for both interior comfort
and exterior visibility.

CAUTION
To avoid premature battery discharge, ensure that the headlamps and interior map lights are switched off when the
engine is not running for an extended period.
Battery saver function
The Battery Saver function is designed to prevent your Kia Carnival battery from draining if lights
are accidentally left on. The system automatically extinguishes the parking lights once the engine is turned off and
the driver’s door is opened.
Note that position lamps will remain illuminated even if the driver’s door is opened, provided the light switch was
manually toggled after the engine was turned off. If you specifically require these lights to remain on, simply cycle
the position lamps OFF and back ON using the steering column light switch after exiting the engine cycle.
Headlight delay function
The Headlight Delay feature provides enhanced security and visibility when leaving your vehicle at night. If you set
the ENGINE START/STOP button to ACC or OFF while the headlamps are ON, the lights will remain active for 5 minutes,
unless the driver’s door is opened and closed, which reduces the delay to 15 seconds.
You can manually override this by pressing the lock button on your smart key twice or by turning the light switch to
OFF or AUTO. Please be aware that if the switch is in the AUTO position and it is dark outside, the headlamps will
remain illuminated regardless.
Configuration for the Headlight Delay can be adjusted via the Kia Carnival infotainment system
settings. For detailed instructions on navigation, please refer to the supplementary manual supplied with your
vehicle’s infotainment system.
NOTICE
Infotainment interface layouts may evolve following software updates. For the latest setup procedures, always consult
the on-screen digital manual or the Kia Carnival quick reference guide.
NOTICE
Crucially, the automatic battery saver and headlight delay functions only operate when exiting via the driver’s door.
If you exit the Kia Carnival through a passenger door, these systems will not deactivate
automatically. To avoid an unexpected dead battery, always ensure the headlamp switch is turned to OFF manually
before leaving the vehicle.
Daytime Running Lights (DRL)
Daytime Running Lights (DRL) significantly improve the visibility of your Kia Carnival to other
motorists during daylight hours, especially during the critical periods shortly after dawn and before sunset.
The DRL system will automatically deactivate under the following conditions:
- When the main headlamps are switched ON.
- When the vehicle ignition is turned OFF.
- When the taillights are active (including automatic activation in low-light environments while in AUTO mode).
- When the electronic parking brake is engaged.
Operating high beam

To engage the high beam headlamps:
- Push the lever away from you. The lever will spring back to its original position, and the blue high beam
indicator will illuminate on the instrument cluster of your Kia Carnival.
-
WARNING
- High beams must not be used when approaching or following other vehicles, as they can cause temporary blindness
to other drivers.
To flash the headlamps:
- Pull the lever towards you.

- The high beams will flash and return to the low beam state immediately upon release. This feature is functional
even if the main light switch is OFF.
Operating front fog light
(if equipped)
Front fog lights are engineered to enhance your visibility during adverse weather conditions, such as dense fog,
heavy rain, or snow, by illuminating the road surface directly ahead of your Kia Carnival.

The fog lights will activate only when the headlamps are already ON and the fog light switch (1) is turned to the ON
position. To deactivate them, simply turn the switch (1) back to the OFF position.
CAUTION
Fog lights consume a significant amount of electrical power. To preserve your battery life and comply with local
traffic regulations, use these lights only when visibility is genuinely restricted.
